Forged Flanges

Flanges are manufactured by several methods but flanges manufactured by forging process using a forge press is found to be the best. In this process metal fibers are not destroyed. Hence it bears higher pressures rather a flange manufactured by casting or machining, Forged flanged with a welded neck raised face and socket welded types are available.

These flanges are used to join pipe lines. the neck side is either welded or threaded like a screw with pipe. Two pipes are connected when flange faces are bolted by bolt-nuts or stud bolt with nuts with a Gasket placed in between the flange faces to prevent leakage. However flanges cannot be used for higher pressures. The main purpose is it reduces the erection expenditures and easy connections with valves, pumps, compressors ETC
